Appointment of our new CEO

Langley Park Learning Trust is delighted to announce the appointment of Sarah Lewis as our new Chief Executive Officer.

Sarah has been appointed following a rigorous recruitment process led by the executive search firm Perrett Laver, which attracted a large number of very high calibre candidates from across the education sector. 

Sarah joins the Trust from the Department for Education where she has served as Director for Early Years and Schools since 2018 and has held national leadership of policy and delivery across a range of portfolios.

Her career at the DfE spans over a decade and previous posts include Deputy Director for Opportunity Areas and Deputy Director for the Education Standards Directorate.  Sarah has also led for the DfE on policy development on, and support for, multi-academy trusts and on professional development for school teachers and leaders. 

Sarah believes strongly in the power of education to transform a child’s life, regardless of their background, and she brings together a strategic vision with great energy and personal warmth. 

On her appointment, Sarah said: “I am delighted and honoured to have been appointed as the next Chief Executive Officer of Langley Park Learning Trust.  The Trust’s commitment to provide an excellent education for every child at every stage is one which I very much share.  I look forward to working with everyone at LPLT to build on the strengths of the Trust in the years to come.”

Enkanah Soobadoo, Chair of Trustees, said: “The Trustees were incredibly impressed by what Sarah Lewis has achieved, her understanding of the MAT landscape and her ideas to build positively on the developments at our Trust to date.  In her we believe we have found a leader who will inspire colleagues across the LPLT community in fostering a culture for learning that is bold, ambitious and inclusive and delivers on our mission of ‘Excellence for Everyone’.”
